Road bike on a Bike Hero work stand at a customer's porch

Your road bike, serviced at your own gate

The mechanic arrives with the tools for the job. Gears are indexed, brakes set and the drivetrain checked in front of you, and the bike is ready to ride when he leaves.

What wears out on a road bike here

Mileage and humidity, in that order. Both are worse in Singapore than most riders assume.

Chains and cassettes

At 200km a week a chain is finished in a season. Leave it too long and it takes the cassette and chainrings with it, and a cheap job becomes an expensive one.

Indexing

Cables stretch and housings compress. Shifting that hesitates going to the big cog is almost never the derailleur, it is the cable.

Brakes

Rim pads glaze in the wet and start eating the sidewall. Hydraulic discs need bleeding once the lever goes soft or the bite point starts wandering.

Cables and housing

Gear and brake cables stretch and pick up grit. Most vague shifting on a road bike is a cable that needs setting properly, not a new derailleur.

Sweat and salt

Riding here means sweat running down the stem, and salt air along the coast. Both corrode bolts and cables faster than rain does.

Contact points

Bar tape, cleats and a saddle that has crept a few millimetres. Not glamorous, but this is what makes a long ride hurt.

A full overhaul, a bottom bracket that needs pressing out, or a bike that has been down in a crash is a bench job. That is Bike Hero Pro, and we collect and return it.

Pricing

Three packages. The price includes the mechanic coming to you. No transport fee, no call-out fee, nothing added at the end.

Where road bikes get ridden in Singapore

Each of these does something different to a bike.

The Round Island Route

Long, flat and continuous. You rarely stop pedalling, which is exactly what puts the hours on a chain and cassette rather than on brake pads.

Mandai and Lim Chu Kang before sunrise

The classic Singapore loop. Rolling, quiet and far enough from home that a mechanical out there ruins a morning. Worth the pre-ride check.

East Coast Park

Salt air, all year. It gets into cables, chains and drivetrains faster than anywhere else on the island, and it does not stop when you park the bike.

The daily commute

A road bike doing city mileage through traffic goes through brake pads several times faster than a weekend bike. Different wear, same bike.

We cover all of Singapore

Every neighbourhood, north to south. Book from anywhere on the island and a mechanic comes to your address. There is no branch to be near, because there is no branch.

Road bike questions we get

Shimano, SRAM, Campagnolo?

All three, mechanical and electronic. If your groupset needs a firmware update or a proprietary tool we do not carry, we say so before we start rather than halfway through.

Can you bleed hydraulic discs at my place?

Yes. It is a doorstep job. We carry the fluid and the kits for the common systems.

How often should I service?

At 200km a week, roughly every three months. At weekend mileage, twice a year. If it is stored on a balcony in this climate, closer to the first number than the second.

Can you tell me how worn my chain is?

We measure it with a gauge and show you the reading. If the cassette is going too, you will hear that from us before you pay for a chain that will skip on it.

Will you fit parts I bought myself?

Yes. Tell us what you have when you book so the mechanic brings the right tools.

What if it needs a full strip-down?

That is Bike Hero Pro. We collect the bike, do the complete workshop service and bring it back to your door in 4 to 5 working days.
